Designed 100% for tourism and which gave the city worldwide fame, it is an extensive land strip flanked by the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupte Lagoon.
Large hotels, shopping malls, bars, restaurants and nightclubs are part of the urban landscape that many describe as a mix between Miami and Las Vegas but that we believe has its own identity.
The lodging that was previously reduced to hotel rooms, has diversified and today there are options that include airbnb, condominiums and hostels.
Special mention to Selina Laguna, which in addition to offering accommodation in Hotel and Hostel format, hosted the visit of our Lama in 2019
The best way to move to and from the hotel zone are the public buses, it can be the R1 and R2, which are easy to locate because they have "HOTELS" as their destination.
The R2 is the one that leaves a few blocks from the Buddhist center at the bus stop in the HOME DEPOT parking lot. On the way back, the driver is asked to leave them in front of this same point.
It should be noted that taxi or Uber services within the hotel zone are much more expensive than in the downtown area.
In the same way, you can transit the 25 kilometers length of the Kukulkan blvd on the bike path or on foot for a closer experience.

Recommended Public Beaches: In Mexico all beaches are federal property, not private, so all of them are for public use. However, in Cancun we have the peculiarity that the access to the beaches is controlled by the Hotels.
Even so, we have some that have public access such as: Playa Chac Mool and Playa Marlin, both beautiful and with enough sand space and infrastructure for visitors.
Lighthouse: Located in Punta Cancun and another of the "instagrammable spots of Cancun" the most fun way to access it is... with a jet ski! that you can rent on the beach of the Coral Beach hotel just a few steps from the Lighthouse
Ventura Park: Water park with a beach club to spend a day on slides and mechanical attractions.
Coco Bongo: For those of us who are anti-scandal and open bars… a place to avoid, for those who are Pro scandal and want to see one of the best night shows… a place to put on the list.
Sirena Raw Bar: Salsa is danced here, with a live band, under the stars and in front of the Caribbean Sea… Do we need to insist?
Chedraui Selecto: Supermarket with fast food area, ideal for a snack or a meal without having to invest in hotel zone restaurant prices.
